Robert D. Fechtner, MD

Robert D. Fechtner, MD, is Professor of Ophthalmology and Director, Glaucoma Division, at the Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Science UMDNJ–New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Fechtner received his bachelor of science degree in biomedical science and his medical degree from the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. A fellowship in glaucoma followed at the University of California, San Diego, under a National Research Service Award from the National Institutes of Health. After several years on the faculty at University of Louisville, he joined the faculty at New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Fechtner has published more than 100 scientific articles, abstracts and book chapters.
