Behind the scenes: patient services team making teddy bears for patients

Our Patient Services team continues to remind us why they’re a vital part of Catalyst. They gathered together, not for a meeting or a training, but for something far more personal: crafting handmade bears for young patients at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

The team split into four groups, each determined to create not just a stuffed animal, but a character with a story, a purpose, and a spark of joy. For Patient Services, the experience wasn’t just about the bear; it was about building teamwork and brightening a child’s day.

Every detail mattered. From carefully choosing the fluff that filled each bear to thoughtfully selecting outfits, capes, accessories, and personalized messages, the team poured genuine care into every step. They wanted each bear to reflect the warmth, compassion, and dedication that define our Patient Services team—and they succeeded.

After plenty of laughter, teamwork, and finished furry friends, the group made their way to deliver the bears in person. Dr. Monduy, Medical Director of Neuromuscular Medicine at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, welcomed them to the lobby to receive the special delivery.

“Catalyst cares” wasn’t just a phrase they repeated throughout the day; it was shown through every moment, every gesture, and every bear. Experiences like this show just how deeply our Patient Services team embodies those words.
